Mission Statement

In order to encourage the study of Iron Range history, the Iron Range Research Center identifies, collects, processes, catalogs, preserves, displays and makes easily accessible the historically significant written, oral and visual records of Minnesota's Iron Ranges.

Interpretation

The major purpose of the Research Center is historical; it serves the region as a repository for Iron Range history. The Research Center promotes inquiry into the historical records of the Iron Range through a documentary record that includes not only books, manuscripts and microfilm, but also audio, visual, and other materials. The primary focus is on the Iron Range, local history and genealogy.
